   Thai Quantum Cryptography Testbed

This project aims to create a quantum cryptography testbed among the three locations in Thailand: NECTEC, Thammasat University (TU), and Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). The system includes quantum key distribution (QKD), key management for data encryption, data transmission, connection monitoring, and data encryption and decryption. It also allows encrypted data to be transmitted in either Ethernet cables or optical fibers. This three-year project has the in-plan achievements for each year as follows:
  • 1st year: a lab setup for performing the research as well as a web application named "Thai QKD Network" as shown in Figure 1 for monitoring the quantum cryptography network

  • 2nd year: a prototype of quantum cryptography network with quantum key distribution and management as shown in Figure 2

  • 3rd year: a fully equipped quantum cryptography testbed, shown in Figure 3, has three main links: the first link (5.5 km) connecting between NECTEC and the Department of Telecommunications at AIT – Thailand, the second link (5 km) connecting between NECTEC and the Department of Computer Science at TU, and the last link (5 km) connecting between NECTEC and the Department of Electrical Engineering at TU.
