Optical and Quantum Communications laboratory (OQC) was officially founded in 2005 under the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC) in Thailand. NECTEC is responsible for undertaking, supporting, and promoting the development of electronics and computer technologies through research and development (R&D) activities as well as providing a linkage between research communities and industries through the established industrial clusters in Thailand. As its name suggests, OQC aims to conduct R&D on optical and quantum communications, cutting-edge technologies in Thailand, and provides know-how for these emerging fields. The enhancement of network security and new communication systems based on optical and quantum communication technologies are also in focus.
